The Phonics Picture Ladders Bundle is a Science of Reading-aligned resource that follows a carefully planned scope and sequence. Use these during small group instruction time or one-on-one (as an RTI tool).
For each phonics ladder, you will say: “It’s time to climb up the phonics picture ladder! Let’s look at the first picture next to the ladder and say the picture aloud. Tap and map the sounds. Write the letters for each sound on the lines. Now, let’s climb up to the next step on the ladder. We will change 1 letter (or more) on this next step to match the picture. What letter do we need to change? Write the new word on the line.” Continue until students reach the top.
A teacher script and cheat sheet are provided for each ladder.
To Use:
Simply print the pages. Place in dry-erase pockets or distribute as-is.
