I've also included close reading articles about the following animal babies:
- Tigers
- Giraffes
- Orangutans
- Foxes
- Elephants
- Chicks
- Kangaroos
- Panda Bears
Part 1: Posters to hang in your classroom and to use while introducing animal babies (real life photographs that showcase important vocabulary).
Part 2: All About Animal Babies - These article pages were designed as a way for you to "hook" your students at the beginning of your animal baby unit. You can display the article pages on your document camera as a whole group or print and display during small group instruction.
Part 3: Differentiated All About Animal Babies Mini-Books - These are differentiated mini-books that can be used during small group instruction. There are three versions. Each version is slightly easier than the last. I wanted to give you options because I know that many of our students come in reading at different ability levels. It is up to you to pick and choose which articles you use with your groups. You can either print in color and laminate or print them in grayscale. Text-Dependent Response sheets follow!
Part 4: Eight Different Close Reading Articles - These close reading articles are perfect for you to use to help your students learn about 8 unique animal babies. Your students can use these at different learning stations, in small groups, or as whole class. Questions about each animal baby are included.
Part 5: True/False Animal Baby Activity - After learning facts about insects, students will sort the sentences according to whether they are true or false. I've also provided a cut/paste sheet too that requires students to read simple sentences and glue them in the correct column.
Part 6: Graphic Organizers Galore - These graphic organizers, vocabulary books, and independent practice sheets can be used however you wish! I tried to offer you many different options to help meet the needs of your diverse group.
In addition, I've also included links to some fabulous insect web resources and books! Additionally, you'll find many real life photographs included. These photographs will enhance your students understanding of animal baby topics. I also included some "Discuss It" task cards for students to refer to while observing the photographs.
