Introducing the Zip It Kit - the ultimate Science of Reading aligned multisensory tool for phoneme segmentation and blending! This growing bundle is perfect for tactile learners (aka: all students!). The Zip It Kit will include word mapping cards for phonics skills.

TO USE THE ZIP IT KIT, ALL YOU NEED ARE:

  • quart-size Ziploc bags with the slider zipper
  • the Zip It word mapping cards (included in bundle)
  • dry erase markers
  • eraser/wipes
  • photo storage case to hold all cards (purchased at Michael's, optional)

HOW TO USE:

  1. Place the word mapping cards for each phonics skill in separate Ziplocs. Be sure to place them in the bags so the zipper part is at the bottom (so students can zip/blend the word).
  2. Next, students will say the picture aloud and map the sounds they hear.
  3. Then, they will graph (write) the corresponding letter or letters for the sounds.
  4. Once they've mapped out the word, they will then slide the Ziploc zipper from left to right to blend the sounds together.
  5. Students will pull the card out after they map all of the words to reveal the next Zip It card. Oh yeah!
